The GeoBlue Trekker Choice is a multi-trip travel medical plan for travelers looking for emergency medical coverage while traveling abroad. The plan covers trips no longer than 70 days in length per trip that you will be taking outside the United States during a period of one year. The plan does require you to have primary health insurance in place, but there is no exclusion for pre-existing conditions.
With the Trekker Choice plan, the medical limit is $1,000,000 and there is a $100 deductible. For travelers over age 69, the maximum medical limit is $100,000. This plan also includes $25,000 benefit for claims resulting from a listed hazardous activity such as, downhill skiing and scuba diving (certification by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) or the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) required or diving under the supervision of a certified instructor).
You are provided with an emergency assistance number to call 24/7 in the event you need medical assistance or an emergency evacuation during your trip. This plan also features the Direct Pay program, which will pay medical bills upfront if the appointment was made with a medical provider in the GeoBlue network and GeoBlue is aware of the appointment 24-hours in advance.
Also, you will have access to detailed security profiles and provider profiles with information regarding doctors and hospitals in the area where you will be traveling. This can help you to prepare for travel to your destination and make informed decisions about your medical treatment if there is an emergency during your trip.
The GeoBlue travel medical plans are available for purchase only before your departure date. If you have already departed on your trip, do not purchase this plan because you will not have any coverage.
Stay healthy while abroad with travel medical insurance for emergencies.
