Terrible customer service! It took over 4 months to get paid on a claim and literally 50+ hours of follow up calls with the company. Hold times were hours long and I received conflicting information. They seemed to do their best NOT to pay me for covered events in my contract - possibly hoping that I would give up. I had to escalate to the CEO in order to get any action. (I also requested help from Insure My Trip and that customer service was great). Be sure to read the contract before buying from this company. There are other companies on this site who might be a better fit. I can't recommend IMG and will never buy from them again.

    Thank you for letting us know about your claim experience. We are very sorry for the delays and multiple communications. Prior to the pandemic, claims were typically processed within 30 days provided that all necessary documentation was sent in. Due to the overwhelming volume of trip cancellations and other claims during the pandemic, the normal processing time for claims has been around 3-4 months over the past year or so with most providers. That time can also be longer if they are waiting for further documentation from you. Things have started to get back to a more manageable volume so we're hopeful claims will get back to a reasonable timeframe.

I traveled with a hiking group of women who were all in our mid to late seventies. Because of our age and the high level of physical activity we all opted for this insurance plan and were secure knowing that we were fully covered for any eventuality. Luckily, we didn't need to make a claim.

Be careful with increasing trip cost that must be insured with addendums to original trip cost. Our trip cost increased as we booked additional tours, etc. Insurance quote started out being about 10% of trip cost, but ended up being around 12%. I might have chosen another insurer had I known he rate was going to increase that much. I called customer svc when the last addition increased the cost increased about 15% of the added cost and was told that was their rate schedule. Next time I will request a schedule of the rates for various trip costs.

    Thank you for your feedback. It is always a good idea to request quotes at your estimated total trip cost. Travel providers vary their pricing. Some providers just use an average rate. Other providers charge a large chunk of the premium at the lower trip cost, while still others use a rate that increases once you enter a higher range for trip cost.

Fortunately, we did not need to file a claim. While deciding which plan to purchase, and following the purchase of this plan , I had several questions regarding it. Each representative , with whom I spoke, was very efficient, knowledgeable, and personable . Totally satisfied with the overall experience .

My luggage was lost for 2 days after I arrived in Helsinki. I did not file a claim at that point but was preparing to when I received notice that the airline was delivering my bag to me. It would have been a hassle to have to take time from my trip plans to replace my items but I'm sure you would have been there for me if I needed it.
