WARWICK, R.I., May 11, 2015 — Demand for travel insurance for trips to Mexico continues to grow, according to a new data report from InsureMyTrip. Mexico topped the list of most popular international destinations for U.S. travelers purchasing comprehensive travel insurance in 2014. Italy and United Kingdom rounded out the top three.

The U.S. Department of Commerce also reports an increase in travel to Mexico. In 2014, roughly 25 million U.S. travelers visited the country, up 22 percent from 2013. Travel over the border was also a significant contributor to overall Mexico performance from March through December. U.S. air travel to Mexico (6.9 million) was up 11 percent.
