WARWICK, RI, June 6, 2011 — On June 8, 2011, Rhode Island-based InsureMyTrip.com, a pioneer in online travel insurance comparison and sales, will break new ground once again by participating in World IPv6 Day, a global-scale test flight of IPv6, the next generation of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
The goal of World IPv6 Day, sponsored by the Internet Society, is to motivate organizations across the industry to prepare their services for the transition from IPv4, the protocol most Internet services use today and which is expected to run out of address space this year, to IPv6 which provides over 4 billion times more space.
In a few days’ time, InsureMyTrip.com and members of the Internet community will come together to enable IPv6 on our websites for 24 hours. Simply put this means business as usual for our customers and visitors to www.insuremytrip.com who can expect to receive the same high quality experience and friendly service we’re known for. Behind the scenes however, our technology-forward company is excited to be a ranking member of the innovative companies gearing up for the future of Internet communications and all that it will provide.
