Global Underwriters Diplomat Long Term

The Diplomat Long Term plan is a single-trip travel medical plan covering travelers (U.S. and Non U.S. residents and citizens) who are traveling outside of their home country. The plan must be purchased within six months of your departure date, but can be purchased after you have left your home. The trips must be at least 3 months in length, but cannot exceed 12 months.

The Diplomat Long Term plan from Global Underwriters features a variety of medical coverage limits based on the age of the traveler. Medical coverage limits may be restricted for travelers ages 70 and up. Along with the varied medical options, the traveler has options for the deductible as well. Additionally, this plan offers Emergency Medical Evacuation, Return of Minor Children, and Emergency Medical Reunion Benefits.

The Global Underwriters Diplomat Long Term plan has an 18 month look back period for pre-existing medical conditions. This means that there may not be coverage for any loss if it relates to any changes in medication, treatment, diagnostic testing, or any recommendation for such that had taken place within the 18 months prior to the effective date of your plan.

If your overseas trip includes adventurous activities, you may consider adding the Low Option Athletic Sports and Hazardous Activities rider to the plan. This will enhance the Emergency Medical coverage to include coverage for a loss related to a variety of sports and activities that typically would not be listed as a covered reason for coverage. The Global Underwriters Diplomat Long Term has provided a solution for these travelers by adding the optional Home Country Coverage.
