GeoBlue Trekker Essential
Fortunately our trip did not require any medical care. I was impressed that you provided a list of medical facilities in or near our destinations. we are eligible for Tricare coverage via US military facilities, but the important aspect of the coverage for us is the emergency transportation feature should anything major occur.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
Do Not be decieved in buying insurance that says cancel for any reason. It is not completely factual. You must cancel with in 48 hours for any reason. Otherwise not all reasons are covered. As was our case. So we wasted 164.00 on this insurance.

    For Cancel for Any Reason, it is industry standard to require your trip to be cancelled 48-72 hours prior to your Scheduled Departure Date. The C+F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus does require that you cancel 48 hours prior to departure. The certificate states the following:

    'If You cancel Your Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this Policy, benefits will be paid for 75% of the Prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits You paid for Your Trip provided:
    a) Your Payment for this Policy and enrollment form are received within 21 days of the date Your initial Payment or Deposit for Your Trip is received;
    b) You insure 100% of the Prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions and also insure within 21 days of the Payment or Deposit for those Travel Arrangements the cost of any subsequent Travel Arrangements (or any other Travel Arrangements not made through Your travel agent) added to Your Trip; and
    c) You cancel Your Trip 48 hours or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date.'

I am disappointed in the plan. I feel that your exclusion to cover mental health issues as a cause for cancellation is discriminatory. My wife did not plan her breakdown so we could get money back on the trip. It happened at an inopportune time as health issues can do. If she had a "medical issue" such as appendicitis or a broken leg we would have been reimbursed but due to the bias that surrounds mental health in this country we were denied. A health issue is a health issue, be it medical or emotional, and all should be covered.

    The Travelex Travel Max plan does have the following exclusion: mental, nervous, or psychological disorders, except if hospitalized. This exclusion is a standard exclusion in most, if not all travel insurance plans. In the future, please consider calling us prior to purchase to discuss the plan exclusions. We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. TravelSafe Classic Plus
I have purchased travel insurance in the past but never filed a claim. In 2017 me and my wife planned to take a Mediterranean cruise and I purchased insurance from TravelSafe. Shortly after we put down our deposit and purchased plane tickets we found out my wife was pregnant. Since she would be in the third trimester at the time of the cruise, we decided to cancel our plans. I filed a claim with TripMate (they process the claims for TravelSafe) under the "cancel for any reason waiver" since pregnancy is not a covered medical condition.
Pros: As specified in the insurance contract, they did reimburse us for 75% of the cost of our plane tickets and trip deposit. Also, their price was reasonable relative to the other plans I looked at when I was shopping for trip insurance.
Cons: It did take them about three months to process the claim and for me and my wife to receive a check, even though it was a relatively simple claim. I don't know if that's standard for the industry. I didn't think the amount of paperwork was unreasonable, but I found it odd that they made me submit a bunch of tour information and then asked our travel agent for the exact same material. Luckily, our travel agent was willing to answer their questions and provide the information, even though we did not purchase the policy through her. If our travel agent decided not to answer their questions would we still have had our claim approved?

    Special thanks to your travel agent who assisted you in gathering the necessary documents. Although we cannot predetermine a claim, you could also have requested assistance from a claim advocate at InsureMyTrip who would have acted as your intermediary during the claim process.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I have waited until a claim was settled. I thought the process was fair, though I had to repeat some information. The settlement was complete and thoroughly explained. My partner and I will certainly be repeat customers. He is already covered with an annual policy since he travels fairly often. I will be a repeater when my next opportunity arises. Mark us very satisfied.
