Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
I read that this plan didn't cover missing a cruise if the flight had mechanical difficulties. That's insufficient coverage for me, but otherwise I had good coverage which we didn't use.

    Thank you for your comments. You are correct that Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption under this policy would not have reimbursed you for your prepaid non-refundable travel expense if your trip had been canceled or interrupted due to the mechanical breakdown of a travel provider under the Choice Cruise plan. However, you did have the option to add on Cancel for Any Reason:

    "TRIP CANCELLATION FOR ANY REASON - OPTIONAL UPGRADE
    If You cancel Your Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this Certificate, the Company will reimburse You for the percentage of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits You paid for Your Trip shown on the Confirmation of Coverage provided:
    a) Your premium payment is received prior to or on the date Your final deposit/payment for Your Trip is received; and
    b) You insure all prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions and also insure prior to or on the date Your final payment for those arrangements the cost of any subsequent arrangements (or any other arrangements not made through Your travel agent) added to Your Trip; and
    c) You cancel Your Trip two (2) days or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date."

    Please also note that you did have some coverage under Trip Delay up to 150 USD daily, 750 USD maximum (secondary coverage).

    "TRIP DELAY
    The Company will reimburse You for Covered Expenses on a one-time basis, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if You are delayed, while coverage is in effect, en route to or from the Trip for six (6) or more
    hours due to a defined Hazard.

    Covered Expenses:
    (a) Any Additional Expenses incurred;
    (b) A one-way Economy Fare to return You to Your originally scheduled return destination...

    Hazard means:
    a) Any delay of a Common Carrier (including Inclement Weather).
    b) Any delay by a traffic accident en route to a departure, in which You or a Traveling Companion is not directly involved.
    c) Any delay due to lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money, Quarantine, hijacking, unannounced Strike, natural disaster, civil commotion or riot.
    d) A closed roadway causing cessation of travel to the destination of the Trip (substantiated by the department of transportation, state police, etc.)"

I had an issue with my purchase that needed correction. Customer service (Cindy) was fantastic. My problem was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. Fortunately, my trip went well and I did not have to file any claims, but I would definitely purchase from InsureMyTrip again for future peace of mind.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
I did not file a claim with this company. The plan offered good coverage for medical and evacuation, which I consider the most important aspects of foreign travel. I do not recommend this company, however, due to the fact that ten days prior to my trip I received an email stating that I would not be able to access my account on line due to technical difficulties. When I called their customer service I was told that they did not have a date when this problem would be resolved. I can understand a computer glitch, but one that lasts several weeks is not acceptable, especially when that glitch occurs when my trip was scheduled. I had paid the premium several months ago and it was not refundable, so I went on my trip with some trepidation. Insurance is supposed to take the doubt out of travel leaving one to enjoy the trip.

    does offer good coverage for medical and evacuation, but we regret that you were unable to access your account prior to your departure date.
    However, HTH Assistance would still have provided you with Travel Assistance Services if you had called 877-865-5979 or 610-254-8771 or emailed [email protected].
