Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The cost was reasonable for what we spent on the trip, but it is Insurance. If you need it, you're glad you have it, if you don't use it, it is a waste of money.

Had my flight to Vietnam was cancelled due to weather. I wanted to go for the duration of my initial vacation so I contacted Insure my Trip and talked to a gentleman regarding my options. He informed me that since my trip was cancelled, if I moved it over by 2 days, any additional costs would be covered. Long story short, I submitted my claim and basically nothing was covered! I was out $2500. Think twice before using this insurance provider. I will never use this company again.

I regularly purchase travel insurance. Although I lucklily did not need to use the policy. I did come down with what was later dianosed with COVID. If I had to cacel the trip, the savings would have been significant

I bought this coverage for 2 cruises. I wanted only medical and evacuation coverage with sufficiently high limits to make sure it would handle any eventuality - which it did. I did not want 'cancellation' coverage, so my premium was perfect for what I bought. I'll be cruising 3 more times this year and will purchase this same package to cover each of those evnts.

As usual, when I travel, I use Insuremytrip.com to research and select an appropriate policy. I purchased AXA Platinum as a result of my recent research. I had some confusion on what I needed to purchase of "known costs" and received a few different responses to my inquiries. I wanted to be sure that my policy would not be invalidated because of any failure to include a "known cost" There is a a brief window to change a policy. At the time of my purchase, I included the cost of airfare as a known cost. I later acquired travel through use of frequent flier points, which substantially reduced the cost of my trip. Since it was outside the window for making a change, there was no way to get a refund of policy costs. My request was sent to AXA through Insuremytrip and, thankfully, AXA approved my request for an exception to the normal policy on refunds. I appreciated that approval. Perhaps some more clarity about what is to be included as a known cost would be helpful.
Fortunately, I had no need to make a claim on the policy itself but the plan included what I might have needed.

I would recommend this policy to others but with the following advice. If you make a claim online, keep in mind that the claim examiner assigned to you might not find your situation as straight forward as you think it is. There might be some back and forth -via email or phone call (on your part) about the documentation you submitted (e.g. an explanation in English for a receipt in Italian even though it's pretty obvious what it's for) or a request for more documentation than what you submitted (e.g. submitting not only receipts but credit card statements that match the receipts) .
It will all get worked out, but not overnight and maybe not as quickly as you think it should. I just received my settlement for a claim I initiated 5 weeks ago. I thought that was an acceptable outcome.
One last thing, pay attention to the Trip Delay max. The policy I bought had a daily max of $150. When I was pickpocketed the morning of my cruise and had to stay in Rome overnight to get an emergency passport, then fly to Majorca, Spain to meet up with my ship that would be docking the morning after, I incurred the cost of two nights in a hotel, train and taxi fares, a plane ticket, and the cost of replacing my passport. I was traveling off-season, so both the airfare and the hotel costs were minimal, but I still exceeded the daily limit for 3 days of Travel Delay by $158.00.

The best thing about purchasing travel insurance is knowing that I am covered financially in case something happens. The peace of mind of knowing that you will receive help in the event of an incident is reassuring.

Traveling with an 80 year old who is in great health. Weather can also be a factor, so wanted coverage for trip. Everything went as planned but was very glad to have the coverage if there was a delay coming back.
