We missed 4 ports of call on a trip to Iceland, Greenland, and Canada because of weather. Our ship was delayed 48 hours on the very first day and then we missed 2 more ports of call during the trip. I filed a claim with documentation from the cruise line that clearly stated it was a weather delay/issue but my claim was denied because we were already onboard the ship! I've used many other travel insurance providers and a missed port of call was ALWAYS covered under the trip interruption clause. We checked the other policies and the language was the same as in the World Trips policy so they just didn't want to pay for a set of circumstances that clearly was a trip interruption

Luckily, insurance is to take of unknown medical issues or problems while traveling. Since we didn't experience any of these problems, we didn't need your services. It was comforting to know we had a service to help us if problems occurred.

AIG wouldn’t cover my claim because I had moved up our trip by two weeks and hadn’t updated the dates accordingly. I claim not fair! We still had the same cruise trip and airfare expenses. They used this technicality to avoid payment.
