Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Purchased a comprehensive insurance plan with substantial medical evac coverage mostly because I planned on being in the Alps where care can be very expensive. Thankfully, I didn't have to file a claim but was glad I had a policy in place. The recent fires in Maui are a great reason for travel insurance - we can't possibly foresee all of the things that can rapidly derail our travel plans. I recommend reading the coverage details from various plans in your budget (but be fully caffeinated) because there are differences in the details. Otherwise, choose one and then enjoy your trip!

WE were ill on our trip - covid - tried to access our Interruption coverage to stay few extra days but found thru many many calls that we needed a qualified test.
WELL THIS IS WHERE BARRIER IS - GETTING QUALIFED TEST IN Canada and foreign countries is just not available any longer as out of "pandemic" times it seems.
Believe me- i tried it all and am a RN so know who to call. Hospitals, hotel, pharmacies, more hospitals - most spoke only French - to no AVAIL.
Thank goodness we had enough of home meds and could stay extra to clear isolation days and not be communicable any longer so that was good as didnt want to make others sick.
THIS IS A PROB and I will be tellling everyine I know about travel insurance BARRIERS.
WE pay premium in earnest- and should not be this hard to obtain our coverage.
I am so dissapointed as have used Insure my Trip for years. and many travel trips.

I had to change the dates of my trip because of a delayed flight at the outset of my trip. I called Generali and spoke with a representative who made the changes on the spot. I was impressed at the ease with which this happened.
