Luckily we did not need to use the plan but it gave my wife and I peace of mind knowing it was there if unfortunately something happened to us while overseas.

The best insurance is the one that never needs to be used. I feel secure when traveling knowing that I have coverage in case something unwanted should happen, requiring insurance coverage.

It took a very long time for my claim to be process and there were no email updates about the claim. I had to call to check the status and there was never an email send asking for additional information. The representatives are not that friendly.

Be sure you understand the difference between Trip DELAY and Trip INTERRUPTION from the Insurer's point of view. It's a difference of a maximum benefit of your trip cost (Interruption) and a maximum of $150 daily (Delay). I still don't understand it.
I was Quarantined in Switzerland during my 2-week trip after testing positive for COVID and was unable to return home as scheduled. I would consider this an Interruption of my trip. Nationwide called it a Delay. As such, I was reimbursed only $450 of my $850 costs for the 2-day interruption. Thankfully it wasn't any longer as the cheapest lodging I could find was $260 nightly.
In addition, after spending 4 hours gathering the plethora of documents and receipts required and mailing it (trying to file multiple documents online was impossible), my claim was delayed for 3 months due to a backlog. I had to call multiple times to get the status of my claim. When my reimbursement finally did arrive, it was short $150 (they misread my claim and only paid for 2 days instead of 3), necessitating another call from me and a wait for final payment.
I think they're reasonably priced if all you're looking for is a trip cancellation in case you get hit by a bus before your trip and can't go, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

When my daughter started having a tooth ache, I called 24 hr help desk just to see if I can find information regarding a coverage. The toll free number doesn’t work when you’re calling overseas and it took me a little while just to find the right phone number. Even though the number I called said 24hr assistance but no one answered after waiting over 30 minutes. It was just a waste of time and money so I looked up a local dentist and took her there. Luckily it wasn’t that big of a deal, she only hurt her jaw and didn’t have a cavity or root canal. But can you imagine waiting over 30minutes when you’re seriously injured or sick? Even though the coverage seemed perfect for our trip, I don’t recommend C & F travel insured for others.

Can't honestly say whether the plan was good or not... because thankfully we didn't have to use it. That being said, it was reasonably priced when I compared to other plans and covered alot more, than the one offered by RC.

Super impressed! I have previously had a bad experience with another trip insurance company, which essentially kept on asking for the same documents and explanations over and over…and over. In the end, I gave up and moved on. So, I was skeptical when I had to file a claim for an injury this time.
What a pleasant surprise! They did ask, once, for a set of additional documents to be submitted (which included some items I had already submitted, like the itemized receipt and the credit card slip), but that was it. After the (re-)submission, the payment was issued within a couple of weeks—without my having to give them a nudge. I find the entire process to be fair enough. I will definitely use Nationwide’s Prime Plan again.
