It’s a peace of mind thing that we do when traveling out of the country. A few years back when my wife’s mom and mine were ill we used Generali when doing domestic travel and had to use it once or twice and the whole process went smoothly.

We bought this for our trip to Florida in case of hurricanes, it supposedly covers "named hurricanes". Sure enough, Helene came and we had to leave. That's when we found out the fine print - this policy only covers mandatory evacuations or if your residence is "uninhabitable". So even though we were in Panama City Beach with a hurricane warning, and the governor telling everyone to leave, because there was no mandatory evacuation and because it never destroyed the condo, we couldn't get our money back. We lost 4 nights of our 6 night vacation and this policy was a complete and total waste of money.

The plan provided us with peace of mind and was provided at a reasonable price. Thankfully nothing occurred but we were happy to have the coverage in place if we needed it.

Insurance is best when you don't have to use it - it provides peace of mind in the event of an unfortunate occurrence. What I like about insuremytrip is the ability to select and customize plans to suit our needs. For example, having a pet rider is very important to us, and I haven't been able to find that through a TA.

Insurance provides peace of mind, especially for senior travelers. We believe trip insurance is essential and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company Universal Cruise plan has proven to be the best in offering the type of coverage we need.

Thank you for insuring my trip. Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay but 3 days. We had to leave Wednesday morning because of hurricane Helene. Evacuation started above us in Fort Myers so we wanted to get as far up as possible because Helene came ashore.
