Our cruise was cancelled and we received a full refund from Royal Caribbean. The only money we did not get back was what we paid for insurance. Seems ironic, although we can use the insurance on another trip

Since we had no problems with our vacation, I can't really say wether the policy and customer service were easy to deal with, which is a good thing. But I will use them again as it did give us "some peace of mind" knowing there would be help in reimbursements if our trip went array.

Now that my claim has been settled, I would say I am satisfied. Trying to get through on the phone to customer service was quite a challenge. However kudos to customer service representative. I would give the company five stars. She was extremely helpful and assured me that this claim would be handled effectively, fairly and to my satisfaction. It’s employees that make a difference when dealing with a big corporation. So overall I would give the insurance company a good rating .

We were not able to review the plan within the free 10-day window and would have cancelled policy if we did. The exclusion clause included "pandemic" which we are still experiencing. We were lucky that there were no trip cancellations, interruptions, or delays due to restrictions or COVID surge. Other travel insurance company have a much better cancellation policy.

Many of the travel insurance providers are covering Covid-19 as any other unforeseen illness, if you are to contract the virus and the plan's definition of Sickness is met. Coverages can include trip cancellation, if it occurs during your trip, as well as trip interruption, trip delay, medical and medical evacuation if it is contracted while on the trip.
However, any sort of travel bans, government shutdowns, or fear of traveling due to Covid-19 would require the "Cancel For Any Reason" protection.
