Did not file a claim even though the cruise ship ruined my husband's carry on suitcase handle. Didn't realize it until we got home. Grabbed it at terminal and put in car and headed home. Didn't check it over then. Our fault. So can't file with insurance or the cruise line as it's to late now.

My cruise was cancelled mid stream. Regent the cruise line has promised a full refund for the cruise portion only. But Not the airfare.
I asked if my policy covered the airfare on this truncated cruise.
Your Customer service could not provide an answer.
Why not?
The policy is the policy. Why can't insure my trip tell me what is covered or not covered?
The response: File a claim and we will let you know is unsatisfactory.

We're sorry your trip did not go as planned. We encourage all of our insureds who feel they may be eligible for coverage to file a claim as each claim is reviewed on its own merit and in the order of when it was received, regardless of how simple of complex the claim may be.

When a medical condition forced me to cancel my trip, I tried to reach IMG by telephone. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact IMG by telephone, I called Insuremytrip, and was told that IMG's online system had crashed several weeks ago, and they could not predict when it would be back online. I was also told that once IMG's system was restored, there would be a long delay before my claim was processed since was growing backlog of claims.
Fortunately, I was able to obtain full refunds from American Airlines and the hotel, making an insurance claim unnecessary.
It is unacceptable for an American insurance company not to have a backup system in place in the event its system crashes or there is a hacking incident. IMG also was not willing to manually process claims while the their system was down. Insuremytrip, which apparently acts as a broker or agent, was not helpful in resolving the problem other than offering its sympathy.
