Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
My flight to Aruba was canceled because JetBlue had staffing issues and I arrived in Aruba one day later. I incurred a $385 hotel cost which was nonrefundable. JetBlue did absolutely nothing for me and now Nationwide denied my claim because my flight needed to be canceled because of weather. Do not use this company. They will find a reason not to pay your simple claim.

Thank you for your reply. In order to receive payment from the company under Trip Interruption, the interruption must be caused by a covered reason. Unfortunately there is no Trip Interruption coverage if Jet Blue cancels a flight because an employee called in sick. You also did not qualify for reimbursement under Trip Delay since you did not incur any additional travel expenses.

I think the plan was a little light in the medical insurance. I would have liked more just in case. I am never that worried about my lost luggage but health is a big issue as we get older. Thank the Lord we didn't need any of the insurance but it is nice to know we were covered for anything.

I did not file a claim so no idea how does it actually work. But I felt safe during my international travel having the BSH travel protection ExtactCare plan.

While traveling overseas, I was bitten by a dog and will require reconstructive surgery on my face.....My bills for emergency treatment and drugs in a developing country were only $25. They will cover that, but not any follow up care that I need. Worthless! If you travel to a developing country, don't bother with this insurance, medical care is cheap, if not free, and you won't get any help once you get back! I will not be purchasing this insurance again.

We are sorry to learn of the accidental injury that you suffered. The Nationwide Essential plan provides coverage up to 75,000 USD per person for unforeseen, accidental injuries or emergency illnesses which first occur during the trip, and are treated by a physician during the trip. If medical treatment is not obtained during the trip, and the traveler waits until returning home to the United States, the travel insurance expires and is not responsible for the medical bills.
In the future, please call us prior to purchase so we can review the plan benefits with you and answer any questions you may have about coverage.
