Travel insurance brings peace of mind. Thankfully we have not had to file a claim, but cannot recommend this plan. Reading the reviews of others who filed claims, lead us to believe AIG is fair to customers.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
Travel insurance is hard to rate when it is not used. I was impressed with the concierge services advertised through this plan. I inquired about an airport pick-up and it was 5 times the cost that I was able to locate through tripadvisor. In trying to inquire about the concierge services, it took me 4 calls to get to the right "office" as I kept getting passed around (I guess this service is not used too often). On the tour, I heard about some much more reasonable travel insurance programs that I will use in the future.

    Although the coverage may be provided by this plan, the iTravelInsured SE plan only provides Financial Default under Trip Cancellation if you purchased this plan within 20 days of your initial trip payment:

    "Trip Cancellation -

    Benefits will be paid up to the Maximum Benefit Amount purchased to cover an Insured for the non-refundable Published Penalties and prepaid expenses for Travel Arrangements when an Insured is prevented from taking his or her Covered Trip due to:

    ---

    6. Bankruptcy or Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator, or Travel Supplier (other than the tour operator or travel agency from whom the Insured purchased their Travel Arrangements) which stops service more than 14 days following the Insured’s Effective Date. Benefits will be paid due to Bankruptcy or Default of an airline only if no alternate transportation is available. If alternate transportation is available, benefits will be limited to the change fee charged to allow the Insured to transfer to another airline in order to get to the Insured’s intended destination. This benefit only applies if the policy has been purchased within 20 days of the Insured’s initial payment for the Covered Trip and for the full cost of the Covered Trip..."

    Since you made your initial trip payment on 09/02/2017 but did not buy this policy until 03/14/2018, you had no coverage for Financial Default under this policy.

Even though I did not need to use this policy, for me, it is peace of mind knowing I have insurance coverage out of the country.
I like that they remind you of your upcoming trip with all the contact numbers.
I will definitely use them again and have recommended Insure My Trip to others traveling.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
It certainly seemed like good coverage to me for the price especially for the medical evacuation aspect, which is what I worry about the most on a ski trip that could contain an accident. Fortunately, I did not have to use the coverage, so I don't know for sure how quickly the company would have stepped in to make sure that my medical needs were being totally taken care of. I will continue to use this product and hope that I never need to make a claim! Of course, that is what you always want to happen with any type of insurance that you might purchase!
