I had to cancel a 6-day guided trek to Mayan ruins in Guatemala after the first day due to severe intestinal problems. By the time I was taken out by mule to the nearest village, the symptoms had cleared,but the trek had of course continued without me . I did not see a doctor after I got out of the jungle because time had cured the problem. C&F Travel Insured refused to even accept a claim because I did not have a doctor's report (as if I could find a doctor in the jungle). I travel frequently but will never use Travel Insured again.

The C+F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector includes the following coverage under Trip Interruption as per the Certificate found in your Confirmation of Coverage:
"Your, Your Family Member’s, Your Traveling Companion’s, Your Traveling Companion’s Family Member, Your Business Partner’s or Your Business Partners Family Member’s covered Sickness or Injury which: a) occurs while You are on Your Trip, b) requires Medical Treatment at the time of interruption resulting in medically imposed restrictions, as certified by a Legally Qualified Physician, and c) prevents Your continued participation on Your Trip;"
We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. Thankfully I didn’t need to use my Travelex Travel plan on the trip, but knowing I was covered gave me peace of mind. The company made purchasing the plan super easy with a great price, so I absolutely expect to use them again in the future.

We purchased travel insurance for an international holiday that included a cruise. My mother-in-law suddenly passed away just before we were slated to leave and therefore hastily canceled the trip. We filed a claim and the process was fairly straightforward. I called the customer service line and they provided me with some guidance as to what to include. There was a request for additional documentation and then the claim was paid. My only complaint is that after I filed the the claim I didn't receive any notifications or feedback as to whether the claim was being processed or not. But, honestly, that's a pretty small thing. I would purchase this insurance again. I didn't feel that the documentation required to provide evidence of the family member's passing was overly burdensome and the claim was paid relatively promptly.
