Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I am glad I purchased trip insurance for a once in life time 2 week trip to Italy. Luckily nothing prevented us from taking the trip and we didn't have any issues during the trip so we didn't need to file a claim. It would be nice if you use the same company several times for different trips that they provide you some type of rebate or cash back if you don't need to file any claims.

Fortunately we did not have to use the policy , but glad that I had it . Friends have been the other countries and had accidents or health issues and several turned into major problems . That is why I always get this .

Two weeks before our trip started, my girlfriend broke her ankle. The bike tour company graciously refunded our fee. We asked InsureMyTrip to cancel our insurance policy, not for a refund but to apply to a tour we would take NEXT YEAR. We were unable to schedule and book the tour AND get all the documents submitted before the deadline (beginning date of the cancelled tour), so extenuating circumstances don't matter. We lost our premiums despite forwarding emails from the tour providers. InsureMyTrip sucks at customer service.

InsureMyTrip is very sorry that this process did not work out for you. Although we were able to process the first change of travel dates for you, we were unable to process the second request since the insurance companies require documentation with both the new and previous itinerary, such as an invoice, receipt or billing statement confirming the trip was cancelled and refunded prior to your scheduled departure date.
The TravelSafe plan we purchased, met our needs for what we want in travel insurance. Fortunately, we did not have any reasons to file but there is a lot of peace of mind knowing we have a great policy in place if we need it.
