I highly warn people to NOT get this insurance.
The claim process is fairly simple. Fill in a form, send it along with scans of the documents.
BUT the catch is.
They only make settlements of claims through CHECKS. Yes, you heard that right, checks in the mail.
What is this, are we in the 80s?? Also.... it doesn't matter if you're abroad.
They'll send you a US check, for a US bank, and expect you to somehow cash it in.
So, if you're not living in the USA, then this insurance company is not for you.
Stay away.

My father died from injuries received while traveling overseas. The medical bills and air ambulance costs nearly cost my mother her house. Since that trip I have used www.insuremytrip.com exclusively for overseas coverage. I wish I could tell you about the claims process but I thankfully have never had to use the coverage. I will say the biggest problem was that my fathers coverage was just way too little. For the cost you cannot go wrong with extra coverage. Don't assume you'll never have to use it. I hope this helps someone.

I would say reasonable person would say it was adequate but I never used it. I can't how valuable it would've have been. I'm glad I didn't have to use it, Nice to have a back up plan.

Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
The plan provided additional coverage required by law of the country I visited as a tourist for 3 weeks. I did not file any claims or ever expected to have a need to file any claims. Got the plan to comply laws of the vising country, so I am not 100% sure how helpful my review can be.

I bought this plan, but received my insurance document in a corrupted PDF file. Contacted both Insuremytrip and Tokio Marine HCC and they asked me to log in the website to access the documents. But guess what?! It does not work either. And I´ve written to them and they do not even care to put some effort to send me a new file for the documents.. Imagine if it was an emergency?! And with no documents I'll be lacking of proper documentation to get in the EU. Will I have to buy another insure from a different agent and company?! I'm trying to figure it out..

Haven't filed a claim so can't do a real evaluation. But on paper, the plan is good. It was one of just two plans that would cover complications of an existing pregnancy. They thoughtfully sent us a card with plan details, and they have a phone app with various info. (The app sends you alerts about emergency situations around the world -- would be better if only sent them for where you are or will go). They have pre-screened doctors in various countries, and can issue "guarantee of payment" so they pay the doctor directly.
