We purchased the AXA Silver plan for a cruise we took last winter. There was a flu like illness going around the ship that both my husband & I caught, and we were treated by the physician onboard our ship. AXA covered the entire expense of our medical treatment, but it took several months of emails & snail mails back & forth, sending more documentation about the claim & the cruise, before we finally got reimbursed. They will pay your claim, but they're not a huge hurry to do it.

Note to insureds; Always read the fine print. The "Cancel for any Reason" clause does not allow a cancellation benefit within 2 days of trip departure. For the benefit to be effective you must cancel your trip at least 2 days prior to your scheduled departure.
This plan offered the medical evacuation coverage we were most interested in. We were very pleased with the plan and the peace of mind it provided. This is the second time we have purchased the particular travel insurance plan.

I took the "cancel for any reason" trip insurance due to my medical conditions, my dog's, and my 90 year-old mother that lives with me. No one really knows what can happen, but having the insurance gave me peace of mind. I did encounter a missed flight due to the cruise scheduling my disembarkment too late and then having a 4 hour delayed flight and missing a connection, but Alaska Air made it right to get me home and had my luggage FED EXd to my home the next day so I didn't need the insurance. But these kind of things happen and would have been a disaster if the flights messed up on the first day of my vacation! Then I would have needed the insurance. I'm definitely buying it the next vacation I take.
