The plan seemed to cover all of the items that were of concern. Foreign health insurance, trip cancellation, and trip alteration among them. Fortunately, we did not need to make a claim. I could not figure out how the "pre-existing condition waiver" worked. I acquired the insurance within 30 days of making my initial trip payment and within 24 hours of making my final non -refundable payment. I wanted only the two payments for transportation to be covered. All others were refundable. I assume that we were covered for pre-existing conditions. I need to be sure prior to our next trip.

    The policy that you purchased included a waiver for pre-existing conditions with the following conditions met:

    "a) Your Payment or Deposit for this Policy and enrollment form are received within 24 hours of the final Payment for Your Trip or before the final Payment for Your Trip; and
    b) You are not disabled from travel at the time Your premium is paid."

    In the future, please consider speaking with us prior to purchasing a policy. We would be happy to provide you with an explanation of the pre-existing conditions exclusion and the requirements for the waiver to be included. This was the first time we purchased trip insurance and I was very pleased with the customer service rep that walked me though the process. It was easy, she answered my gazillion questions very patiently and there was always someone available for additional questions. We had a trip ruined a few years ago by a hurricane and this provided peace of mind for our recent trip. Thanks!

Though I was unhappy to have to purchase costly insurance, I was grateful to know that I had it.
I appreciate how clear it was to sort through policies and find one with the basic considerations of health to rely on should something happen. And something did happen, but I decided to go ahead anyhow and the trip worked out fine.

The plan was affordable. I needed coverage for a condo rental which I could not use due to work reasons. I immediately filed a claim. Carefully following the instructions- or so I thought. However it took 11 weeks from the time I first submitted the claim and to the time I received payment for the claim. The receipts I submitted evidently weren’t sufficient, so they requested my credit card statements. I immediately provided them but rather then reviewing my updated claim right away, this placed me back at the beginning of the process it seemed. From my experience I suggest following up immediately after 15 days have passed and submit all receipts and your credit card statements to avoid delays. My claim was approved. It just took a very long time and lots of following up.
