In addition, two or three days prior to our trip, we received a reminder email with a plan summary, and important numbers to call if necessary. Good work! The responsiveness from John Hancock provided us with a secure feeling in the event we needed to make a claim.

InsureMyTrip was very easy to use for securing a healthcare inly policy for my son heading off to Europe on a post graduation trip.
Contacted customer service via live chat and they followed up with options available for the type of coverage I wanted. No trip cancellation needed so you simply put $0 in the field asking for cost of trip.
I just purchased another policy for myself and sons as we head off to England for an opening day football match in Manchester.
Hopefully won't need the insurance and will be writing another positive review in a months time.

The customer service at John Hancock Insurance was the worst I've experienced in over 20 years. While their office took information for a call back (twice) they never returned my calls. It took 3 days to reach an agent to ask questions about their policy and the agent was unwilling or unable to address my questions on the policy. After requesting to speak to a supervisor I was placed into a voicemail box and again no return call.
Fortunately, I was within the 10-day review period so was able to cancel the JH policy. I purchased a policy from April who provided exceptional customer service when I contacted them with the same questions regarding their Choice policy.
I highly recommend you check out policies offered by April vs. JH; April offers similar coverage (same underwriter as JH), are cost competitive, and April provides excellent customer service.

We did not read the plan details and were unable to claim for flight delay. If I would have kept the receipts, I may have had a covered claim. Travel insurance is worth purchasing for peace of mind.
