Insure my trip has worked to provide me with travel coverage for the past 15 years. I have always been happy with the results. I have been insured by Nationwide several times and have previously filed two travel claims. Those claims were very promptly and satisfactorily settled. I trust them with my travel coverage.

Be sure you understand the difference between Trip DELAY and Trip INTERRUPTION from the Insurer's point of view. It's a difference of a maximum benefit of your trip cost (Interruption) and a maximum of $150 daily (Delay). I still don't understand it.
I was Quarantined in Switzerland during my 2-week trip after testing positive for COVID and was unable to return home as scheduled. I would consider this an Interruption of my trip. Nationwide called it a Delay. As such, I was reimbursed only $450 of my $850 costs for the 2-day interruption. Thankfully it wasn't any longer as the cheapest lodging I could find was $260 nightly.
In addition, after spending 4 hours gathering the plethora of documents and receipts required and mailing it (trying to file multiple documents online was impossible), my claim was delayed for 3 months due to a backlog. I had to call multiple times to get the status of my claim. When my reimbursement finally did arrive, it was short $150 (they misread my claim and only paid for 2 days instead of 3), necessitating another call from me and a wait for final payment.
I think they're reasonably priced if all you're looking for is a trip cancellation in case you get hit by a bus before your trip and can't go, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere.

I didn't really think of needing or using this plan until I saw the coast guard helicopter hovering over the ships bow taking a passenger to Puerto Rico to keep her or him alive. Then it hit me as to why my kids keep saying "buy trip insurance". And then again as I saw 5 people boarding the boat in the first port of call... Go a day early AND get the trip protection. Nationwide was a good value!

Policy does not cover expenses If a third party excursion provider fails to get you back to the ship prior to leaving port- you have to look at these third party providers very carefully before deciding if there is risk. Policy with the added cancel for any reason was expensive. There seemed, however, to be fewer qualifiers with filing claims than other policies, so we felt if we had a loss there was a reasonable chance that the claim would be paid. Our trip was successful and we are thankful we did not need to file a claim.

Did not use, but easy to buy and had good coverage, The most important aside from trip interruption and all that is the medical treatment and evacuation with good limits.

Fortunately did not have a need to file a claim with our purchased policy, but the piece of mind knowing it was there in the event it was needed was well worth it.

I have used InsureMyTrip.com for several of the cruises that I have taken. I appreciate the variety of choices based on needs, as well as the ability to compare features of selected policies. I have chosen Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. in the past because they are a reputable name in the insurance industry and they have policy features that I desire when I cruise. I know I can trust the company in the event that I need to file a claim.
