great having that piece of mind as we had another cruise passenger that had to be taken off the ship in Mexico and I don't know if they had any additional coverage. I was thinking the whole time glad I had this extra policy as that could have been me.

On advice from a colleague from work, we insured our Disney cruise through InsureMyTrip. It was cheaper than insuring through Disney. Less than a week before the cruise, a member of the travel party had a medical issue that caused us to miss the cruise. I submitted a claim which was processed and the reimbursement was received within one month. The documentation requirements were clearly outlined in the email I received as a result of my claim submission.
It took some time to gather all the required documentation but it was more than worth it as the entire cost of the cruise was reimbursed. I normally don't insure trips but I will do so going forward and will use InsureMyTrip.

I basically look for the cheapest coverage for what I need and includes pre-existing and medi-evacuation. I have collected several times with different policies and never had a problem with "cheap." In fact, one of them reminded me that they could not finish processing my claim until I submitted what Medicare was paying when it had been sitting on their desk gathering dust. I was aware that it was still pending but Medicare takes their good time processing their claims.. Anyway, impressed they didn't just "sit" on it and hope I would go away (lol).

Thank you very much for your five star review. However, I would like to point out that your Nationwide Universal Cruise plan does not include the Pre-existing Condition Waiver. Although the waiver is not available in the Universal Cruise plan, it is offered in the Choice or Luxury Cruise plans.

On my way to Bangkok I chipped my tooth and I was not going to have it repaired there as the places where not to my standards. When I came back to the US I made an apt. with my dentist to get it repaired and found out that it is not covered. Bangkok is a 3rd world city and the thought of having my tooth worked on there was not an option for me. I feel like this should of be covered but was told it is not.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to learn that you chipped a tooth during your trip and are dissatisfied with this policy. The claims administrator is required to adjudicate claims based on the terms and conditions of the policy. With any travel insurance policy you would have to seek treatment during your trip for it to be considered a covered expense. Once you return home, the policy will terminate.
Per the Covered Expenses definition in your certificate: "Reasonable and Customary Charges incurred while insured under this Certificate; and that do not exceed the Maximum Benefit limits shown in the Confirmation of Coverage, under each stated benefit."

Seemed like the best policy I'd found for a cruise, since it's specifically designed for cruises, & covers everything you need. It was really reasonably priced too with better coverage for a better price than from the cruiseline or my travel agent. I'm going on 2 cruise in the next 12 months, so I'll be buying it again! It would be nice if you could buy it for multiple cruises at a time since one typically needs to book in advance. I'll be on 3 in a 12 month period. But otherwise it was great peace of mind as I didn't need to make a claim.
