I would highly recommend Nationwide Mutual Insurance for trip insurance and will definitely use them again for future trips. I got sick during a recent cruise and had to visit the ship's doctor which cost me $136.00 for the visit. Nationwide reimbursed me 100% for the doctor fee. I couldn't be happier

This was the lowest cost plan available for our needs, and came with great reviews. I was not looking for a 'cancel for any reason' plan, since we were quite locked in and only a medical emergency would have been a reason on our end to cancel. It was only for trip interruption/cancel or medical needs as to why I wanted the travel insurance policy.

Obtaining a quote for the plan was easy via InsureMyTrip and purchasing the policy was similarly seamless.

While we did not have to file a claim, I am certain doing so would have been a positive experience.

It was interesting as to the wide variation of policy costs, and some higher cost plans were from companies with very poor ratings. Do research and dont just assume that higher cost plans mean better plans or companies, because that is likely not the case.

This was my first experience with InsureMyTrip and it was a very positive one. I will be a repeat customer in the future when needing travel insurance.

We were quite comfortable working with this company. The only reason I didn't give it a higher rating is that, thankfully, we didn't need to file a claim. So a true test of how good it is, or not, would be in how they handled any adverse situation. But we would certainly come back to them for future travel should the opportunity arise. Thank you!

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Had to delay trip home by 1 day because my wife got food poisoning, We had a medical bill (covered by our health insurance), a flight change (reimbursed by our airline) and 1 extra night hotel that we claimed with Nationwide.

After much frustration in calling and dealing with them on the phone and waiting significant processing time for our claim, they said that the doctor's note that both united and our health insurance accepted wasn't good enough. We don't have a way to contact the hospital again to get a minor wording clarification, so we're just out the hotel stay (which was less than the cost of the plan itself).

I've purchased 5 or 6 Nationwide plans because their comparison was good value in my opinion, but this was the first time we had to file a claim. I'm so glad I got to find out how difficult they are with something so minor. Avoiding them from here on out, just disappointing to lose business because they're trying to get out of a minor charge that should have absolutely been covered.
