Well I didn't use the insurance, so I can't say if satisfied or not. On the how satisfied question, I wish I would include Not Applicable. I don't think it is right to ask this question if you haven't had to deal with getting reimbursed, that is the real test of your company.

My wife and I both got sick at the end of our travels in Vietnam. It is at least a 3rd world country when it comes to health care. We forced ourselves to get on the plain and back to the US for medical care. I called to make a claim and was told our expenses are not covered because we have to have emergency medical care while we are on our trip. REALLY! Get medical care in Vietnam? I have heard that travel insurers always find a way to get out of paying claims. Not I've seen for myself. I won't be buying again, it is a waste of money for useless coverage.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We hope that fellow customers will find your review and our response to be educational and informative.

We are sorry to learn of the illness that you suffered. The Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential plan provides coverage up to 75,000 USD per person for unforeseen illnesses or accidental injuries which first occur during the trip, and are treated by a physician during the trip. Unfortunately, if medical treatment is not obtained during the trip, and the traveler waits until returning home to the United States, the travel insurance expires and the expenses would not be covered.

In the future, please call us prior to purchase so we can review the plan benefits with you and answer any questions you may have about coverage. In fact, you may call us any time at 800-487-4722 to discuss travel insurance products offered by InsureMyTrip. We are open 7 days a week, and all of our representatives are licensed insurance agents.

Didn’t have to use this plan whatsoever, so the fact that it was a very affordable price for our peace of mind was absolutely worth it. We will be purchasing from this company for every trip here on out! In the event something did happen, this plan seems to provide excellent coverage. Thank you! Purchasing again for a December trip already.

I submitted a claim to get reimbursed for a trip delay. It was a relatively simple request for relatively small dollars. I submitted the claim on March 13; I finally received the insurance checks on May 8. That's much longer than it should take, in my opinion.

Didn't need to use plan, fortunately! Coverage and cost were what we were looking for.

Just knowing that we have peace of mind if something goes wrong. As I have traveled a couple of times with things that have happened and I did not have insurance. Got caught once in a hurricane. Wilma was a bad time. So I don’t travel without insurance anymore. Thanks for giving me peace of mind.

Vacation travel insurance is confusing to understand in terms of what you are getting and it is relatively expensive (5-10% of trip cost). I went with Nationwide in part because of their reputation for other types of insurance, but I will most likely not automatically return to Nationwide for my next vacation travel, because it is unclear to me whether I received the best insurance I could for the price I paid. I believe that travelers will flock to a company that sells travel insurance by demonstrating its value, rather than by simply comparing what they offer to what others offer. Insurance companies, including Nationwide, seem uninterested in providing a short, easy-to-understand summary linking what you are buying to why the price is what it is.
