I have a question about this subject!

Question:

I am booked on an NCL cruise in November from Lisbon to Buenas Aires, and a second cruise in April from San Juan to Barcelona. I am not to worried about cancellation due to the corona virus or in fact heath insurance that covers the virus. I would like to have included in my policy a provision incase NCL goes out of business. Which policy do you recommend. I have been a customer of yours for several cruises in the past.

Answer:

As of this time, companies most likely will not cover financial default of Norwegian Cruise Line due to their publicized announcement of financial issues/possible bankruptcy that came out yesterday. Since this announcement has been made already, the situation would be considered foreseen (it would be like trying to purchase auto insurance after you have been involved in an accident). We always recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance right after making your initial payment so that you have the most coverage options available to you. There are many plans that offer time sensitive benefits that are based on when you make your first payment or deposit, and also coverages, such as financial default, that may have a 10-14 day waiting period before they go into effect. If you have coverage questions, please call our Customer Care Department at 800-487-4722 and speak with one of our licensed travel insurance representatives.

Answer:

Unfortunately, the multi-trip annual medical plans we offer do not provide any travel protection benefits such as coverage for Financial Default / bankruptcy. Only our single trip comprehensive policies offer these kinds of benefits.
