Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Compared to other plans, this gave me exactly what I was looking for and at a reasonable price. Thank goodness we didn't have to file any claims and our trip was perfect. Communication was great and application easy.

I think it is ridiculous to offer trip cancellation coverage (cancellation for any reason) but then have a stipulation stating that you can't cancel for any reason unless it's more than 72 hours prior to your trip. If you have an emergency the day before your trip you're not covered.

However, we believe that you are confusing Trip Cancellation with the optional Cancel for Any Reason coverage.
Trip Cancellation reimburses you if you must cancel your trip prior to departure for a "covered" reason. The number one covered reason for Trip Cancellation is the unforeseen illness or injury of you or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel, by order of a licensed physician; or the unforeseen hospitalization or death of a family member. To see all of the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip, please click on the dollar amount that appears under the words "Trip Cancellation" when viewing a quote.
Cancel for Any Reason allows you to cancel your trip prior to departure for other than a "covered" reason. There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 10-21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip must be canceled more than 2 days prior to departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, most of the policies will reimburse you for 75% of your penalties, unless otherwise noted.
The Cancel For Any Reason will show under its own box. Please make sure to click on the underlined phrase to view the requirements to qualify for this option. When I went online the first time I made a mistake and thought I was buying for $4200 each for coverage. I never say the confirmation email until I get an follow up reminder about the upcoming trip. In looking at my account on line, it showed $4200 total for the cost - but when I got the email reminder it showed $3000 total.
Even though I messed up (and later bought additional coverage), I'm not happy that my original purchase and online account showed $4200 yet the email confirmations showed less.
I feel like I paid more additional cost then what my original purchase should have been for $4200. I called customer service and they said they could review it -- but i have not heard anything. I have the screenshot of the original email login showing the $4200 for the cost.
Not happy this time around.

Since I did not not have to file a claim, I cannot really say how good the plan was. From my experience with insurance companies, they are good at collecting your premium, but not always good at paying a claim.
