Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Because I took out this plan close to the departure date the majority of the claim was not paid out. My trip was cancelled because the airline went into administration the day before I was due to fly. The policy 'small print' meant my flight was never covered on this policy yet the coverage was accepted by Travelex when it was applied for. The system for signing on clients at Travelex needs to be improved and a policy should be declined if full coverage is clearly not stated at sign-up. Whilst I understand that all policies have restrictions and limitations, in this particular case I was left feeling that the old clichés about insurance companies certainly apply to this company : 'if there is somewhere in a policy that allows the insurance company to wriggle out of paying 100% of a claim then they will use that loophole'. Shame on Travelex. I chose this company because of their good reviews and I took out this policy in the belief that trip cancellation would be covered 100% - I was wrong. Will never use this insurance company again as it let me down just when I needed them.

Our needs changed long after we set up the insurance coverage and still well before our departure date. The plan would not allow us to increase our coverage.
Also, we had two assigments to fulfill on our trip. As a complete surprise, both of these assignments collapsed due to factors in at our England destination. This entirely changed our travel plans and needs but I am not clear as to whether we would have been covered had we decided to cancel our travel.

Thank you for your comments. Generali did decline to increase your total trip cost because the shipping expense would not be considered part of your travel arrangements.
In order to cancel a trip and receive reimbursement for your prepaid expenses, you must cancel for a covered reason.
The number one covered reason for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption is the unforeseen illness or injury of you or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel, by order of a licensed physician; or the unforeseen hospitalization or death of a family member. To see all of the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip, please click on the dollar amount that appears under the words "Trip Cancellation" when viewing your Confirmation of Coverage or quote.
Given my age and medical condition, this was a great and economical plan to have. It gave me the confidence to have a stress free travel without the worry on what will happen if I fell sick. Although I did not get to use it but was a comfort to have. I look forward to taking it again for my next travel

No need to file a request for coverage. I know from first hand that any visit for medical service is prohibitive. So the coverage for health situations makes every dollar spent on health coverage, not to mention other coverage, is worth it’s weight on gold.
