Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The country I was visiting had very specific requirements when it came to insurance. Particularly for Covid cover. This policy checked all the boxes and was excellent value.

I was going to Dubai, Emirates canceled my trip but charged me $400 cancellation fee. I was only trying to get that covered. Took them 7 months to complete and deny the claim! Not useful. Would not reccomend!

Obviously the insurance companies are overwhelmed, but there was absolutely no way that I could contact AIG to ask a simple question. I filed the claim online but all of the forms asked for a claim number. Finally I decided to file without a claim number only to discover that the number is assigned only after all of the electronic documents are uploaded. This could have been easily handled by the customer care team, but after two weeks I still have no answer.
The claim was finally settled but my assessment remains the same. The company should have updated the website that assured me that my inquiry would be answered promptly. This expectation caused at least a week of unnecessary delay.

Thank your for your feedback. The insurance provider, AIG Travel, has issued the following response:
"Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we apologize for the delay in processing your claim. Please be assured we are making every effort to serve all of our customers as quickly as possible while we work through an unprecedented number of calls, inquiries and claims”.
A change in the cruise itinerary dis embarkation city was caused by the Covid-19 situation, yet the insurance company totally disregarded this as a legitimate reason for the claim. They only covered the additional costs (most of it had been reimbursed by the cruise line) in the change of airfare. No additional expenses that were incurred because of the change in flight to return home were covered. They claimed that I could not file as flight delay (it was a totally different flight from a totally different city) since I arrived home less than 12 hours from the original flight time (it was 11 hours).

I had to change the coverage by two days more and the insurance company charged me $9.00 more even though the price of the trip decreased. They would not give me a refund or at least not charge me the $9.00. Nickel and dime me!

Thank you for your feedback. Although we are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the policy, the HTH Worldwide Trip Protector plan included a 10 Review Period:
"All premium is non-refundable after a ten (10) day review period from the date of purchase in the event You have not incurred any claims during that time. In the event the premium paid for coverage is less than the required premium for coverage, benefits will be paid in direct proportion of the actual amount paid to the required premium due."
It's called peace of mind, when we are overseas we do not have medical coverage there is always the unexpected, the price was right we will purchase it again in the future.
