Generali Global Assistance Premium
We purchased the insurance to be sure we were covered for health concerns since our personal health coverage no longer covered overseas travel. The fortunate part about our plan was it covered our unexpected trip interruption and reimbursed us promptly for the non-refundable hotel costs we had paid for at our final destination.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
We had to cancel our trip to Costa Rica due to my husband's serious health condition. Fortunately we were able to do this within the time frame to get all of our lodging money back except for a $50.00 processing feel therefore we didnt need to use our insurance policy.

We are grateful not to have had to use our trip insurance but felt safer having it in our back pocket. The InsureMyTrip customer support and website were both helpful and we felt we would be covered had it been necessary. We'd explore this option again for sure.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Prime
We always buy trip insurance for trips out of the country. Clark Howard turned us on to "Insure my Trip" as a way to get around the airline and cruise line coverages that are nowhere near as good or as good a value. Gives me peace of mind when traveling. Wouldn't travel without it!

6% of the Total cost of the trip is pretty expensive.
2 months is a long time to wait for reimbursement.
MUST CALL rather than track your claim online ....customer service representatives are quite competent and willing to assist!
I believe the settlement was very fair. Just be aware that booking fees and cancellation fees incurred with a wholesaler (in this case United Cruises) are not covered. Our uncovered amount was only $125.00. I would suggest booking directly with a cruise line or airline in order not to incur these charges.
