Had to cancel for medical reasons months in advance and notified hem with two MD documentations & all paperwork immediately in Jan and have finally received two checks just now (after fighting with the help of Insure My trip customer assistants to get as much of my money due (still short $75 they say they do not have to pay). They don't contact you back, they don't follow through and after hours of holding on the phone, they hang up on you and don't call back or finally get a person and they receipt script words to your questions that are the same for everything and don't answer anything you are answering. They didn't approve all charges and then gave me a little of that extra money owed and said that was it. Terrible and lie to me and treated me terrible! Did not follow their contract. Travel multiple vacations ayear and always have insurance and anytime I have gottn sick while on vacation and had medical expenses, had to cancel or anything, it was paid immediately and with no issues from other companies. DO NO USE THEM!!!! THEY DISERVE TO BE SUED AND PUT IN THEIR PLACE WHICH IS NOT ALOWWD TO DO BUSINESS ANYOE AND PAY FOR INTEREST AND SUFFERING OF ALL THE PEOPLE THEY DID NOT DO WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO OR DO IT IN A TIMELY MANNER.

I cancelled my trip& sent claim in November. After 5 months only in April your insurance could solve my claim. I was calling many many times to check my status of claim, nobody could answer my question. I was sent from one department to another. Loosing time and emotional stress. Terrible experience. I would never recommend to buy your insurance.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with your claim experience. We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
Unfortunately my husband needed emergency surgery on January 19th due to his falling on our icy driveway that week and completely rupturing his quad tendon. He was unable to walk and we had to cancel our Regent cruise departing January 28th.
We had insured with TravelGuard Gold and they were absolutely stellar. One phone call gave me the information that I needed to file the claim. I waited until after surgery when life was somewhat more stable, and I submitted the claim electronically on Wednesday evening, February 7th. On Friday February 16th I looked online and saw that the claim had a closed status. I called TravelGuard and was told that it had been approved. I received another phone call later the same day telling me that the audit department had also approved the claim... apparently necessary due to the large dollar amount of the claim of nearly $35,000... and I was given a name and phone number to contact if I didn't receive the check in 7 - 10 business days. The check was in fact received within 5 business days, on Friday, February 23rd.
TravelGuard made a very unfortunate situation more palatable by being professional and prompt in all of their dealings. I recommend TravelGuard very highly.

I didn't have to use the insurance fortunately so can't comment on the claims process how much it covered but I liked how easy it was to purchase and it gave me a sense of security that at least part of my trip would be insured.
