C&F Travel Insured InternationalWorldwide Trip Protector Plus
Our travel agency Cox and Kings went bankrupt prior to our trip and most of the money we paid for the trip was lost. Upon contacting C&F I was informed that although we had their "Deluxe" plan, if I would turn to page 52 of (roughly) 97 of their policy I would see that they don't cover bankruptcy of travel agencies. Well, isn't this a major reason we all buy travel insurance, to cover the problems which do occur? We had to pay for the trip twice...
On the other hand when we got delayed due to bad weather, their emergency travel services did help out with rescheduling flights. (We had no travel agency to turn to). Otherwise I would have rated them a one, as I was really angry about the weasel clauses in their contract. I suppose all contracts have exceptions, it is just that in the up front disclosure about what is covered, they should also have a list of what isn't covered so you can know what you are actually purchasing.

As you stated in your review, all policies have exceptions which is why we make every effort to provide you with each plan's terms and conditions by attaching a copy of the certificate to each quote.

Glad I didnt have to use the insurance. I went with my sister who lives in another state. It would have been more affordable to have both of us on the same plan. Please consider linking travel partners in the future.

We have purchased many Trip Insurance policys over the years with "insure my trip" we will continue to do so. The problem came when I suddenly fell sick before our trip to Norway and was hospitalized with sepsis. We were with IMG, what a terrible situation they put us in, I wont go over the details but there were MANY, it took 43 days to pay out our policy, and I am sure it would not be paid now if it weren't for the ADVOCATE at INSURE MY TRIP, who did a fantastic job for us and single hand got us paid. In all fairness I guess I was told IMG was going thru some computer changes and that was part of the problem, but I could never talk to the same person working on my case anytime I asked for a supervisor they were not available, VERY POOR customer service. Since I had canceled my trip for 2019, and rescheduled it for 2020 I didn’t use the insurance that I had purchased. There was a ton of red tape In order to change the dates from 2019 to the 2020 trip. It would have been easier to get congress to actually do something, than to change the dates on the policy. Basically I ended up wasting the cost of the policy, and will just get another one for the 2020 trip.

Thank you for your review. Insurance providers do allow travelers to transfer their policies from one trip to another. By transferring the policy to a future trip it allows customers to not lose the premium paid for the original policy, but it does require certain documentation to be submitted. Upon notice of the transfer request, an email is sent to the customer with the documentation requirements before the request is sent to the provider for processing. I had a major disaster happen in my life before the trip, and the company told me it was not covered, so the $1300+ I paid was wasted money. Needless to say, I would never recommend this insurance company!

Thank you for your review. We are very, very sorry to hear that you were unable to receive reimbursement under this policy. However, you would not have had coverage under any of our Comprehensive plans unless you purchased the optional Cancel for Any Reason Coverage which you did not.
Although the number one covered reason for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption is the unforeseen illness or injury of you or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel by order of a licensed physician, there are still common exclusions that would preclude coverage for your particular situation.
If you do decide to purchase travel insurance in the future, we suggest that you call customer care at 800-487-4722 for assistance.
I had to change the travel dates shortly before leaving on my trip. Generali Global Assistance quickly made the adjustment and sent me an updated policy. That customer service was very appreciated.
Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim on this trip, but I was glad to know that if my flights were messed up or if baggage was lost, we would be covered.
