Unfortunately we had to cancel. The claims representatives stated that the policy was not in effect on the date of purchase of 12/21/2105. They stated the date was 12/22/2105. This was the date that the doctor treated my wife. In addition they stated that the doctor who treated my wife stated that the condition had occurred multiple days before her in person treatment. On the doctors sheet provided in your kit he stated that this not a condition of an underlying condition and she was medically unable to travel on 12/22/2105 which is in guidelines of the trip.

The plan covered all our concerns and was reasonably priced. Although we did not need to file a claim, we felt assured just knowing we had the coverage if it became necessary.

I was not able to receive a Visa for Brazil in time for my cruise. Therefore, I had to fly to Buenos Aires which caused me to miss several days on the cruise. I had to pay for a new airfare and pay $744.00 for an air cancellation fee. (**first flight) After calling about my trip insurance coverage none of it was covered. Wow, very disappointing!

As you discovered, there is no coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption or Travel Delay if you do not receive your Visa in time for your trip which is why there was no reimbursement for your increased costs. In the future, you can read through the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip in any plan on our website by first comparing your quotes then clicking on the dollar amount of Trip Cancellation coverage. You with then receive a pop-up window with a list of all the covered reasons. Please note that these are not the same in all plans so you may wish to call us at 800-487-4722 for assistance.

    We would like to thank you for your comment on the CSA Travel Protection Custom Luxe plan. Policy premium in all plans is calculated based on trip cost, the age of the travelers, the length of travel, and sometimes the destination. The CSA Custom Luxe is a premier plan offering excellent covered reasons to cancel your trip along with high policy limits. It is also one of the few plans offering the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver, which you required, based on your Final Trip Payment.

    In the future, we recommend that you contact InsureMyTrip at 800-487-4722 within 10 days of your Initial Trip Payment for a quote. Since most companies provide the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver if you purchase their plan within 10 to 30 days of your Initial Trip Payment, we may be able to provide you with more competitive pricing.
