With a 91yo mother, and potential flight complications/delays the peace of mind it brings is worth it even if you get lucky and don't need to use it.

Whenever we travel internationally we get travel insurance from Generali Global
Assistance. Although, we have never had to file a claim it is "peace of mind". We are

I had a VERY large kidney stone the week we were scheduled to leave and we had to cancel our trip. I filed a claim for everything that I could not cancel. They paid all of the claim and within a few weeks. I will use them again.
