The claims representative was Outstanding. I liked your plan that we purchased. I did not read it in detail as to coverage and exclusions. I was not aware that different air fare is not covered due to interruption of a trip due to injury. For example we flew to Croatia using Economy fare. Because of severe injury to my wife's shoulder, we flew back to US using Business class as she had to lay flat. We got reimbursed for the Economy value fare-almost $3,000 vs almost $8,000.

I still liked your policy and have recommended you to our friends who also visited Croatia. Fortunately they did not have to file claim but gave them a peace of mind.

I purchase plans from Insuremytrip.com and have probably filed 3 claims out of perhaps 20 policies purchased. To make a long story short, I filed for trip interruption, damaged luggage, and lost item and of the 3, only partial payment ($50) was made on the luggage claim, all the others were denied despite substantial documentation. Wouldn't purchase from this company again.

Unfortunately, our plans are not able to provide coverage for every type of item that you may be traveling with. If there is something specific that you want to be sure is covered, please reach out to us before, during or after you purchase your plan. In this instance, prescription eyeglasses were not covered. We were able to reimburse you for the actual cash value of your damaged luggage. Our Baggage Coverage takes depreciation into account based upon the age of the item claimed. Since I (happily) didn't need to file a claim it's a little hard to quantify my satisfaction or to say I would or would not recommend CSA Travel Protection Custom Luxe. I do know that my wife and I felt better about our travel investment knowing that we had insurance coverage.

Getting older = getting insurance. Reading more about people cancelling their trips for various reasons and getting stuck with the trip costs. Insurance is not cheap - it adds up if you travel a lot and get it every time. BUT, considering the alternative, and most health care plans do not cover you outside the country, it's protection from a possible catastrophe.

It is very difficult to rate a plan when I (fortunately) did not have to make a claim. If I had had to make a claim, I may have discovered items and events that I wish would have been covered, but weren't, and thus may or may not have been satisfied with the plan.

The company's tier 1 and some of their supervisors need some training, are inexperienced, and need to be better at how to deal with plan questions such as terrorist clause to better understand if your covered when traveling to a foreign country where a terrorist act occurs before traveling. Best course of action is talk to there manager. They need to do a better job at answering plan questions before buying.

    Thank you for your feedback. While we appreciate your positive rating we’re concerned we did not meet your expectations as we strive to provide excellent service to all of our customers. We understand you spoke with our Customer Service Department about the terrorist attack that took place in Nice France in July of this year. The plans you were inquiring about can provide coverage in the event of a Terrorist Act that occurs in the city from which you are scheduled to depart or in a city to which you are scheduled to travel, provided the act occurs within 30 days of your scheduled departure date. That city also cannot have experienced a Terrorist Act in the 30 days prior to your coverage going into effect in order for coverage to be available. Our Customer Service Manager was able to confirm that we defined the attack in Nice on July 14th as a Terrorist Act and that no additional attacks have occurred in Nice France since that time.
