In my own case I purchased the insurance strictly for the auto coverage. The auto rental company in Italy refused to recognize my policy, so I was forced to buy their insurance. So, I ended up not saving money, but having to buy the auto insurance twice.

Nothing of consequence happened so we never made a claim. Price was lower than many other offers though I still think that charging 5% of the cost of our trip for insurance was unreasonably high.

The insurance providers will use a few pieces of personal information to calculate the cost of a Comprehensive plan: the ages of the travelers, the number of travelers, the length of travel, and the cost of the trip. Thank you for your comment regarding higher limits for photographic equipment. Although none of our plans provide high limits, CSA Travel Protection provides the most comprehensive baggage coverage since their plans do not include a per article limitation. Nevertheless, the best place to insure your photographic equipment is through your homeowners insurance provider with a Personal Property Floater for your camera equipment. This time we had no problem, but I would never travel without
CSA TRAVEL protection. On our previous trip I got sick just before leaving and got reimbursed for the flights and cruise without any problem in a short time after sending in the doctor note and paperwork. CSA has helped me a lot!

We had to cancel our trip due to my spouse's sudden health issue. I submitted the proper materials to CSA.. Within severaolhours of my sending in the materials by fax, I received an email that my claim had been processed and that we would receive 100% of the requested reimbursement within 7 - 10 days. We received the check in one week. The follow-through and service was excellent. I highly recommend the CSA Company to you!
