Price was better than what was offered through travel agency but somehow I was always nervous that if I had a claim, it would have been more difficult to fulfill on my own. Not sure why I felt that way, but fortunately it was not an issue anyway.

We had to cancel our trip because one of our travelers became pregnant, and albeit that was a non cancel-able reason per the contract, our trip location is one of the highest Zika virus potentials in the world and per her doctors orders not to chance the trip.
The coverage was denied.
We canceled our trip because of the Zika virus not because she was pregnant.
I think this is wrong!

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The only benefit that can be used to cancel a trip due to the fear of contracting Zika virus is Cancel for Any Reason.
Cancel for Any Reason coverage typically requires the following requirements (varies by plan):
1) Purchase within 10-30 days of your initial trip deposit
2) Insure 100% of your pre-paid, non-refundable trip cost
3) Cancel the trip 2 or more days prior to departure
While Cancel for Any Reason does give you the flexibility to cancel your trip due to an increased fear of Zika, it does not protect 100% of your trip cost. Depending upon the plan, Cancel for Any Reason benefit will reimburse 50%, 70%, or 75% of your insured trip cost.

I have insured through Nationwide with almost all of my trips using InsureMyTrip. They are very reasonable for the coverage they offer. This was the first time I have had to file a claim and was pleasantly surprised. The customer service representatives I spoke with were very kind and helpful. They immediately sent me the forms to file and told me all of the paperwork I would need. The claim was handled very quickly with no problems at all. I am extremely satisfied with the plan I purchased through Nationwide that covered a cruise. I had to cancel our cruise due to illness. I submitted the claims forms and received a prompt reimbursement. I would definitely use this company in the future.
