Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I unfortunately did have to cancel my trip due to a persistent leg tendon and nerve injury. It was an active hiking and bicycling trip, and I canceled my trip before the final payments were due for the organized tours. My doctor would not sign off on the form saying I was unfit to travel because of the limited wording of the question -- I clearly could get on an airplane, although I could not complete the trip I had planned. Initially Nationwide denied my claim, but I sent back an email again explaining that I did not want to cancel my trip but could not do the trip I had planned. (As required in making a claim, I had submitted itineraries for the guided portions of my trip). My doctor agreed that I could not complete the trip, as he indicated in a written statement, even though he would not check the box saying I was unfit to travel. Frankly, I did not expect my email to change anything; but, much to my surprise, I received an email response in less than a week saying that my claim had been sent to appeals and Nationwide would be sending me a check for my claim. It took some work getting to this result. It is small consolation, as my injury months later is just slowly getting better, but ultimately Nationwide made a fair decision. For that I give the company 5 stars.

we have been very satisfied with insure my trip. luckily we havent needed to file aclaim. the process for purchasing the plan was easy and it was great to speak to a human. we also appreciated their sending us both the full policy to read via the computer but also the few page summary with all the phone numbers and procedures. we have used this company before and will again in the future

The Trip Protection Plan provided great coverage, we didn't need to file a file though but I felt protected while traveling in the UK.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Amazing trip and experience. Very well planned and organized, thank you for every bit of hard work and efforts in bringing this event together. So happy to be included and able to participate. The one bit of feedback would have helped me pack differently is knowing we can leave behind clothing that may be useful for the community. I had a few things to leave behind but could have delivered more if that's something the villages need. Much gratitude to everyone involved!!

I had no claims. We did experience being pickpocketed on the Milan, Italy subway where my wife lost her cell phone and later I lost a credit card(which I immediately cancelled) and some cash. However there was no way to document these losses for which lost baggage coverage did not apply. Your service seems much less expensive than equivalent coverage offered by tour operators and fellow travelers have been happy with it.

AIG Travel Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
Thank you for this opportunity to critic your travel coverage.
Of course I did not need to use it during my days in Germany, Austria and Italy.
I would have wondered, if I had had to use it, what the process would be in using your coverage. Would you contact the provider and pay him or would I pay him and then you reimburse me upon my return to America. Would there be any discussions between you and me in this process? I have learned from experience that reimbursement is not an easy issue to file.

    Thank you for your review. Travel insurance is reimbursement based. You are expected to pay for expenses up front and be reimbursed for a covered claim. An insurance provider may be able to advance payment for you, but that would be determined at the time of an event and on a case by case basis. I always use Insure my Trip to search for travel insurance. I cannot say much about this plan other than it was a good price for the coverage we needed. We did not need to make any claims or contact the company.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare Value
We had a bag either stolen or lost off baggage cart. it was a carry on bag. Was told it was not covered because it wasn't checked in. That was not acceptable to us. will never use this Insurance company again.

Like any other insurance, one never knows how good the coverage is until you need it! Fortunately, I did not require any claims. It seemed to be a good policy for my individual situation. It was comforting knowing I had this policy as a back up.
