I am thankful I didn't need to file a claim but have had this same kind of travel insurance in June and did need to file a claim. It was very easy to file a claim. I received a check from them very soon after. I bought the same policy yesterday for a cruise in 3 weeks!!

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare
We don't need trip cancellation insurance which, only medical coverage in case its needed. Berkshire Hathaway provided this at a reasonable price.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
It was comforting knowing that many of the costs of the trip were covered in case of cancellation or delay. The medical portion was especially important and we saw an example of why on our flight home. A fellow passenger had fallen and broken his leg. He was in a cast from waist to toe, unable to bend the leg at all and was booked in economy. Fortunately, first class was not full and the crew accommodated him in a first class seat. What a disaster if that was not an option. It's not just the $ lost if something cancels the trip but the unexpected while on the trip that also needs coverage.

It is hard to rate an insurance plan if you didn’t file a claim. We fortunately did not need to file a claim. A review from someone who did file a claim will carry more weight for a review. I did like knowing that if some unforeseen circumstance occurred we would not have been out thousands of dollars.
