I don't think the questions are fair. I didn't file a claim and therefore, don't know how good the insurance coverage would have been.The policy covered peace of mind
I buy insurance for peace of mind hoping to never have to use it.

I did not file a claim during this trip, but I did it at my previous trip. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company did a great job. Service was professional and quick. All representatives were helpful and very professional.

Very satisfied. Three days before our cruise we had a medical emergency and need to cancel our 12 day cruise. We called claims and were given a claim number, with directions on what was needed to file the claim. Sent all needed paperwork in an email with a PDF file to claims. We received 2 checks in the mail approximately 3 weeks later, minus port taxes that Royal Caribbean refunded. Thank you Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. We purchased the Essential Plan coverage.

I supplied all the documentation on 2/9/17. I got my checks on 4/13.
There were two problems. The reviewer would not accept a paid statement from the cruise line as proof of payment. The notification of this rejection was not communicated clearly resulting in delays.
Put another way, this the kind of BS we expect from insurance companies. Delaying payment to improve their cash flow. I made numerous phone calls and it still took over 2 months.
