Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
We had to cancel our cruise due to a serious automobile accident my wife was involved in one month before sailing. I contacted Nationwide and they emailed me the claim forms within minutes. The forms were easy to complete and only needed one doctors diagnosis and their signature. Required forms and claim form were able to be emailed back to the company and full refund for both of us was in our hands in 15 days. All the people I spoke to at Nationwide were friendly and helpful. I would defiantly insure my next cruise with them.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
AIG certainly took care of us when we needed it. Our claims adjuster was wonderful, and made a very difficult situation much more bearable.

Arch RoamRight Essential
First the good: we were (eventually) reimbursed for the full amount of our prepaid airfare when we were forced to cancel this trip due to a medical emergency. Also, the claims reps I dealt with on the phone (3 occasions) were most courteous and helpful.

The not so good: The trip was cancelled and the Roamright claim filed in early November, 2016. I just received the checks for reimbursement on February 26, 2017. I had to call early on to determine the reason for the delay. I was notified in December that I had failed to submit proof from the airline of trip cancellation. (I wasn't aware from the claim form that this was needed but maybe I didn't read the fine print). So I immediately sent an email with proof of airline cancellation. (Good thing I formally cancelled instead of just being a no-show!). Several weeks went by with no response from Roamright. So I made another call and they said they had still not received proof of cancellation. So I re-submitted the proof a second time (aaarrrgh!). Still no response until I called a couple of weeks later. Then, the news was good: the checks were in the mail.

In the final analysis, I did get compensated for the full value of the nonrefundable airfare. But it shouldn't take 4 months to achieve this satisfaction, and more communication initiated by Roamright would have been most appreciated.

GoReady Insurance Choice
We just returned 2 weeks ago from a wonderful trip to French Polynesia. But unfortunately we were unable to land in Tahiti as originally scheduled due to a tropical storm which shut down the airport. As a result we missed a connection to a neighboring island and 2 prepaid days at a resort. Eventually we did make our cruise ship departure, but then my wife injured her leg by slipping and falling from a jet ski at the next island. Required 6 stitches by the ship's doctor and a follow up visit. Plus she developed bronchitis and was seen for that. So we had 3 claims with April (trip interruption plus 2 medical), and they just notified me yesterday that all my claims are covered, right to the penny! I am thrilled at April's coverage and responsiveness. Highly recommended and reasonable in price.
