I was pleased to have good insurance coverage at a reasonable price for my trip, even though I didn't need to use it. I've used Travel Guard a number of times in the past for other trips, and when I've needed to file a claim, it was as painless as possible, the staff were always helpful, and the claims were paid quickly. Unfortunately pets are not considered family members for the purposes of insurance. One of our cats had to have surgery a few days before our trip and we were faced with having to lose all of the money for our trip or pay to have the cat stay in the hospital, which was an added expense and very stressful on the cat. Insurance companies should realize that animals are family members and include them as part of the coverage with proper documentation from a veterinarian.

There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, most of the policies will reimburse you 75% of your trip costs, unless otherwise noted.
