three weeks before our departure date, my husband needed surgery to clear an unexpected blockage in an artery. The claims process was easy, and payment was prompt. Four days before departure, our son was in a biking accident. We just submitted that claim, but I expect that everything will go as smoothly as my husband's claim. What a run of bad luck! The plan offered the coverages needed at a reasonable price. I did need to file a claim. The claim was paid fairly but the claim process was fairly slow. It took about a month to get the claim processed.

I purchased the policy for a cruise that we were taking. The cruise line cancelled the cruise. We rebooked for a different date. The policy carrier was very agreeable & just let me change the effective dates of coverage. One phone call - very easy!

I didn't file a claim, so I don't know how their customer service performs. But I found the plan very expensive. Four our trip to Africa, I got a policy that covers preexisting conditions, so I needed to insure every penny. When I realized the exchange rate made our costs just inch over the amount I insured for, I was honest and called MH Ross to increase the total. Those few extra dollars cost me an extra $150 to insure! I was pretty incensed, but paid it anyway, as I didn't want to take a risk they wouldn't cover us if something happened. But that is just ridiculous. They could have made an allowance for exchange rate changes.

Your representative I spoke to on the phone was very helpful, all of our questions were answered and we felt much more comfortable traveling to China.
As it turned out one of our bags did not arrive with us when we returned to the U.S. somehow it got separated from our other baggage at the airport Beijing China. Knowing I had purchased travel insurance really put my mind at ease while I waited for word on my luggage. The bag was found and sent to my home a couple of days later so no claim had to be filed, but I was sure glad that I was insured.
