When I first looked into travel insurance, my main concern was travel disruption or delay. The agent did not tell me that the total coverage for travel delay was $250. I may have paid more for additional coverage if I would known this. Of course the policy states this if you read it carefully. While I filed the claim, it took over a week to get a response from my claim's adjuster. It wasn't until I threatened to call her supervisor that she called. And she called at exactly the time I asked her not to call. Then I filed the claim on 11/20. When I had not heard anything about the claim for over 2 1/2 weeks, I called the adjuster. She says: Oh, we just got your claim today. The company might never had received the claim if I hadn't called to check on it. What a coincidence that it arrived the day I called. The post office stated that it would be delivered on 11/23, two and 1/2 weeks earlier. It took another 12 days to process the claim. I was informed by e-mail that I would receive $250 for a claim of $400. Funny that the adjuster knew the amount I was requesting during the discussion of the claim and never mentioned the $250 policy limits. Overall, very poor customer service. For all purchasers, be sure to read the fine print to know what you are actually buying.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. InsureandGo has issued the following statement in response to this review:

“Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with the handling of your claim. We have conducted a thorough investigation of your case and have concluded that your claim was delayed in processing due to a stall in mail delivery during the Thanksgiving holidays. However, once received your claim processed and paid within 2 weeks. We take pride in delivering a great customer experience and we regret that we were not able to meet your expectations in this case.”

We had to visit a doctor while in Thailand for a minor stomach issue, and we followed CSA's directions very carefully. Upon returning to the US, we filed a claim for merely $100 and change--and they made us jump through the hoops about several dinky little things multiple times (e.g., the doctor had issued the itemized bills in both the local language and English, yet they asked for a translation, which, besides the fact it makes little sense in the first place, would have cost as much as the small amount claimed!). They asked for a couple of other documents, one after another. It would have been one thing to ask for all of those documents at one time, but CSA came after one item at a time, and it almost seemed as though they were buying time and hoping that we'd go away facing these roadblocks.

In the end, we just gave up. During the same trip, my luggage was damaged and I was planning on filing a claim on that as well, but I didn't bother after this experience. I guess there was a reason the coverage was so cheap. All in all, this was a horrible waste of my time and money. I have since taken my business elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. CSA Travel Protection has issued the following statement:

"Thank you for sharing your experience. We looked into this claim and noticed it was processed nearly three years ago. It appears that we sent you three requests for explanation of benefits, but we never received them. Additionally, a translation was not required. Please let us know if you have any further questions as we would be happy to discuss this with you again. We’re available at 800-348-9505."

Fortunately we did not need this insurance, but we believe it is always better to have it just in case! You never know what the future holds.

My suitcase was 24 hours late when I returned from my holiday. I called for a claim form and explained my 24 hour baggage delay, the operator on the phone stated that the coverage for baggage delay was for purchases made, I told the operator that I didn't need to make purchases as I was already at home but I wanted to claim the $100 for 24 hours delay. I wasn't able to claim as I made no purchases, I was disappointed on the wording of the insurance coverage.

Thank you for your review. We are always appreciative of comments from our Insureds that can assist fellow travelers.

As you indicated in your review, Baggage Delay coverage in Comprehensive Travel Insurance plans reimburse you for the additional expenses that you incur during the trip due to a covered Baggage Delay. Since you did not make any purchases, there were no additional expenses so there would be no reimbursement under Baggage Delay.

Thankfully I did not have to use this plan but I was very glad it covered my expenses if I had needed to submit a claim.

The plan was a bit confusing since it was a Caribbean Cruise and at first was written for an island we weren't visiting. It was difficult to get an answer as to why and then get it corrected.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by initial destination error on your summary of benefits. Thank you for contacting us to have your destination corrected and accurately presented. We appreciate your patience. Seven Corners requires a more specific destination than the Caribbean. In the future, please list the first or final port of call as the primary destination. Please call us at 800-487-4722 if you any questions or concerns.
