The plan was comprehensive and priced competitively with the competition. The company is well known and has a long history. Reviews are generally good. Part of the package is access to concierge service. A day before our Air Canada flight to Paris the airline was having software issues in its aircraft. For two days they cancelled flights. The day before our flight they significantly delayed the flight. I was worried about our flight and alternative ideas so I called the concierge service. The person on the other ends was absolutely clueless not only about flights be even the simple question about services offered by her program. She then said she is a temp for the weekend. She said someone will return my call - they, of course NEVER called back. Happy ending - flight was delayed but they made up time and we got to our destination on time. But I learned that I am on my own for this and not to depend on the Concierge service of this policy.

I got Covid on my travel to Morocco. I have a prepaid tour which I need to leave because of testing positive. IMG paid for the unused portion of my trip. The claims process were quite stressful at first when I was sick because they ask for a lot of support (of course). They were quite responsive and I got my claim. I appealed because the count of days of claim was short which they did investigate and I got $46 more=).

Claim was rejected as a 4 1/2 hour delay ( Causing missing international connection) does not qualify
Must be at least a 6 hour delay I'm told!

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Another cruise in the books with full peace of mind that we had our travel insurance, just in case! Thank goodness we did not need it. But, I read a story where a passenger had a heart attack and was stuck in a Dominican Republic hospital with no funds to return to the States because they did not get insurance.

We always use insuremytrip to find a policy that fits our needs based on where we are going.

I purchased insurance with this company and a few months later i had to cancel my trip due to a new job. I turned in all my documents and had copies to find out 3 months later that they claim they didn’t receive! I resent the documents to wait 2 more months to be told that I was eligible for a refund! Then to top it off you will only talk to a foreigner… NO Americans!! The representative that I spoke to was also rude!! I wouldn’t recommend buying insurance from this company because they will NOT give you your money back!!

International Medical Group iTravelInsured Travel SE
On my recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia I had an episode that resulted in a trip to the emergency room in Cambodia, where I was treated and released after multiple tests and a scan after 3 hours. I notified IMG the next day, they acknowledged immediately, but I didn't actually file the claim till after my return home 2 weeks later. I submitted the info they requested and I received payment in full for my expenses. The whole process took less than a month which I think is timely for a claim, and the process was quite simple. I was very pleased with IMG, and I'm going to purchase another policy with them for an upcoming trip at the end of the year.

I submitted the required documents and months later they asked for more information including wanting a statement from the physician in Peru who speaks no English . I called customer service and was treated with a very rude response. I don’t know why they are making this so difficult. My claim was for less than $400 and I received an email today stating that the claim is closed. Why? This seems like fraud.

I have used other companies on Insure My Trip and was extremely satisfied. There’s no way I can recommend this company. Regrettably I have them insuring my upcoming trip on a cruise. I will see if I can change to another company. Absolutely horrible experience!

AIG Travel Travel Guard® Essential
In April 2023, I had a scooter accident in Vietnam. I filed my first claim on May 18, 2023. Since then, I have been trying to get a response from AIG related to my claim. There is no one to call. They do not respond to my e-mails. The dozen or so documents I sent could have been reviewed in an hour. Yet, over a month has gone by and I still do not know what is going on with my claim. I keep sending e-mails asking for an update or status, but get nowhere. I have already paid out $3500 in medical and travel expenses to my credit card company. The average person cannot carry this amount for more than a month. Yet, here I am still waiting on any kind of response from AIG. I feel like I will never, ever get an answer from them.
