I had no claims. It was easy to purchase. I liked the app because it helps file claims if needed, get prepayment authorization and find providers. It also sends notices of places to avoid because of unrest.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I got the insurance because I have parents in their 90's, so if something had happened to them while I was away I would have been able to come back without enduring so much financial loss. Since it was a conference, my work would have made me reimburse them for the trip if I was not able to attend and present at the conference. Fortunately I did not need to collect, as they were fine, but the peace of mind was well worth the cost of insurance.

WorldTrips Atlas International
Needed a last minute plan for medical coverage only since we already arrived at the port for the cruise. Easy and simple to purchase. A good peace of mind since we saw another person on the ship get evacuated at one of the ports in Mexico due to a heart attack. We hoped and prayed that they were ok and they had insurance. Medical care and flight to mainland US could be as high as $100,000 dollars.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Prime
I believe it is unconscionable that in order to waive the pre-existing condition requirement, you have to buy the insurance plan within 1-2 weeks after initial deposit. This is a rip-off. If you book a year in advance of the cruise, Nationwide gets to play with your money for a year, for free. Nice.

WorldTrips Atlas International
Avoid this plan if you really want to be "insured". I was stuck in a foreign country, since my toddler fell sick (virus that causes breathing difficulty) prior to the return trip. Tokio Marine refused to pay the medical bill and the replacement ticket. The claims website is very obfuscating and pretty hard to figure out how it works. Go with a different company.

Upon speaking with the insurance provider it appears the medical claim was paid, subject to the deductible selected on the policy. In terms of the trip interruption claim, it appears the reason for interrupting the trip, although serious, was not related to a listed covered reason, per the certificate. You do have the right to appeal the claim, and the link to proceed with the appeal was provided by the insurance provider. In the future we encourage you, and all customers, to call us prior to purchasing the insurance and we can assist you with purchasing a policy based on your primary concerns.
