Although this plan is a fair price and it's a good idea to cover expensive trips with insurance, this plan did not meet our needs. Our travel agent dissolved the company after we had already paid and before we left on our trip. I was told numerous times by agents via phone that our insurance policy would cover this. The policy states that they will not cover bankruptcy by a travel provider, but our travel provider did not go bankrupt, they shut down their business and dissolved it. Our claim was denied. I find this ridiculous as you buy trip insurance to cover your trip so you don't lose money should something happen beyond your control. This happened at no fault of our own and we've been absorbed into red tape and helpless to get our money back. This insurance policy was not worth the price and headache to file a claim.

    Unfortunately, there are no travel insurance companies that would pay a claim for an incident such as this. It does not meet the definition of bankruptcy in the policy provisions and there is no coverage for a company just shutting down, as this could be considered fraud or a scam.

We were fortunate that we did not have to use the travel insurance coverage as our trip was "event-free". But the coverage would have met our most important needs for a reasonable cost. My husband got sick and was hospitalized overseas on a previous trip, so we are very picky about what travel insurance we buy now.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I can't speak to how satisfied I was with a plan I didn't have to use, but it was very easy to purchase and I appreciated that the site suggested the best insurance for the type and length of travel. The coverage appeared to be as good or better than the vacation insurance that was promoted through both the vacation booking site and the airline site … and was much less expensive. I would purchase travel insurance this way again.

Awesome plan. Awesome guides. Activities were wonderful. Wanted a little more history and explanation from tea ceremony. In country travel was easy. Country was welcoming and the food was Divine!!!

I do not normally write reviews on anything but am making an exception here. First off I have only heard of horror stories on filing travel claims with insurance companies. If you read no further, IMG met 100% of their obligation. The process can be a pain, but In our case we were talking about $9400. The details are as follows: First off, I always buy my travel ins the day after the final payment on a cruise is made...usually 90 to 120 days. My wife fell off a horse on 8/14/18 and was taken to the ER....three fractures...she is recovered now. our flight was scheduled to leave 9/5/18 with 5 nights in NYC and a cruise from NYC to Montreal. I did not immediately contact IMG but waited about a week to get a prognosis. At that point I advised the claims dept I might be filing a claim for trip interruption, hoping she could at least go on the cruise but once it was determined she could not I informed them I would be filing. Theysent a claim form right away. Because of the paperwork/doctor's stmt involved I did not file my claim until 10/6/18...46 pages of documentation including the claim form....advice....document and send in everything you have(certified mail). They told me TI claims are processed in 15 working days. From a phone call I did find out it took until 10/18 to log my claim in so that is when the clock should start. On 11/8 I called and they said the claim was process on 11/6 and checks are issued on Tues and Thurs. I received the check for the full claim about a week and a half later. The covered the full cruise (less port charges/taxes we got a prior refund), 5 night at an air BnB in NYC that was not refundable, rebooking fees from United Airlines, prepaid car that was supposed to pick us up and the airport and 2 theater tix we had paid for. All in All....I am a happy camper.

We just returned from a relatively long trip to Europe, and as always when we travel, we are concerned with a health crisis or injury while overseas. Medicare (and most likely other health insurers) offer NO coverage while out of the country, and we have friends who experienced a massive heart attack while on a cruise, and through them we learned that evacuation and emergency treatment are massively expensive, and without insurance coverage they would have been really in trouble. We are not so concerned with the cost of baggage or clothing, nor even of the loss of advance payments, that's relatively minor in scope. It's the medical treatment, and evacuation, that's the big ticket stuff that will kill you financially. Also, since my wife has a number of physical conditions ongoing, we are concerned with the "preexisting conditions" coverage, so we pay careful attention to that, since the insurance co. will waive defenses against preexisting conditions provided the insurance is purchased within a specific (and short) time period from either the first or last payment made on the trip, depending. So for example, if our friend with the heart attack had had a preexisting heart condition, they might have found themselves with denial of coverage of a preexisting condition, had they not purchased the insurance within the allowable time frame - so a note of caution to those who want medical and evacuation coverage, who have preexisting conditions, to pay attention to that "little" detail. The coverage provided is a very good value for the money you pay for that coverage. Fortunately we've never had to file a claim, but when/if that time comes, people should be aware of this policy condition. Yes, I am a lawyer.
