Insurance is about peace of mind. When the airline unexpectedly cancelled my return flight, leaving me two more days in a far away, little touristed country, I was put at ease when GGA was immediately available by phone, adjusted the dates, & emailed the revised plan to my phone. Very comforting to experience that responsiveness, even though I wasn't actually submitting a claim. Peace of mind to know you were right there. Bravo! And thank you.????

Because of numerous delays by Amtrak we were delayed over 10 hours reaching our interim destination after 1:00 am Sunday morning.We were supposed to continue onto our destination by Metra public transportation but no trains run at that time of day.We called Travelex earlier in the evening and was told by the representative that since this was not a medical emergency and did not involve a distance in excess of 100 miles to call back during regular business hours,Monday through Friday.Downtown Chicago for two seniors in there 70's toting two suitcases each is not safe and a 47 mile taxi or Lyft at that time or any time is not cheap..... We feel this is one more case of insurance thats great until you try to use it .....enough said.

Our Travel Assistance Company does assist in situations where there is a delay in transportation. This can be anything from helping to find new transportation to assisting with locating hotels to stay in.
However, we are unable to locate a call to our Customer Solutions Department, or our Claim Administrator from the phone number listed on your policy. We found one call to our travel assistance provider, OnCall International, however it was a bad connection and the call disconnected before the conversation was competed. We have been unable to locate any further calls.
Based on additional communication with you and InsureMyTrip’s review team, we will consider your inquiry closed. We empathize with the unfortunate situation you experienced with the train and the lack of cell phone service.

It is a bit difficult to rate something that was not used. If N/A had been an option that is probably where I would have put my ratings. Thankfully we did not have to use the insurance.

We needed to take our comprehensive insurance for our trip to East Africa. Since it was an expensive trip the insurance was also very pricey but necessary. We had a an amazing adventure but thankful we never needed to apply a claim. Therefore I can’t comment on how that would have turned out. This insurance was priced much better than the tour group offering. That’s why we went with it.

Since we did not have to use the plan we purchased, I have no way of determining whether it would have provided the coverage we hoped it would or how well the company would have provided assistance had we encountered a problem before or during our trip. If faced with the choice of purchasing similar trip insurance in the future, I highly doubt if I would. In hindsight, and without encountering any problems, it was a waste of $550 that we could have instead spent on souvenirs or excursions during our travels to AK. I guess it's like any other insurance that it never used.
