I thought the cost comparing with other alternatives was very fair. We did experience in-country (domestic) flights (Quito to Coca Ecuador round trip) that were cancelled at the last minute and required the service to be converted to a driven alternative, which resulted in a 6-7 hour drive each way in order to maintain scheduled itinerary - this was a bit uncomfortable, but we dealt with it to maintain our desired visits to the rainforest.

I had to file a claim because my plane had mechanical problems. which impacted my trip. Generali Global Assistance responded promptly to my claim and approved the claim. I always worry that that an insurance company will try to find a loophole in a claim to not pay and this was not the case. Highly recommended!!!

I usually purchase insurance, since you never know! There was a little glitch, since I had purchased the insurance earlier in the year and the trip was postponed - again! So, I just wanted to transfer the original insurance to the new reservation. I had to go through a couple of "verifications" that I hadn't filed a claim against the first plan - which I didn't have to use since I didn't go on the trip. I thought the insurers should have known that, but all turned out ok. Thanks

It is hard to say if the coverage was adequate because we didn't have to use it, we needed supplementary coverage because of Covid requirements to enter the country we were visiting. This is the first time we've needed this specific coverage. I found it a little pricey. Over $600 for 2 people for 8 days. I think the price varies in relation to how close you are to the travel date. I'm not sure why that would matter but, I got that impression. It was hard for me to select which coverage I needed because there is so much information. Luckily, I had a knowledgeable friend walk me through it after he purchased his. I also think its odd that when I came to the review page the question of , Did you file a claim? was already filled out, so they don't know if I was planning to file one. Maybe that option should be added. They also checked "yes" to say I would recommend them. While I would, I find that a bit presumptive.

    Premiums are based on the cost of your trip, the length of your trip, and the ages of the travelers. These 3 factors together may present a higher premium if there is a larger trip cost insured, a lengthy trip, or the travelers are older.

You can call us at 800-487-4722. Our representatives can direct you to a policy that will meet your travel needs, and we are all very knowledgeable about what plans will be best to meet travel requirements related to Covid-19. We also always recommend that you read the exclusions of a plan prior to purchasing, to verify that the policy does not exclude pandemics or epidemics.

    The review page only has two options for the questions regarding whether or not you filed a claim, and whether or not you would recommend the company. While it does have to automatically default to one option, if that option doesn't apply to you, you would simply want to select the opposite radio button.

I did not have to use the plan but I am grateful I had the insurance in case anything happened. On a previous trip the airlines lost our baggage and it was a great inconvenience. My most recent trip was uneventful, thankfully.

Gouge customers adding expenses and fees that other companies provide for free.
Imagine the PITA if one had to actually make a claim. Lots of other insurance choices. Avoid this operation.
